Fund Description
The fund was incepted in October 1990 and is managed by USAA Investment Management Company. The fund seeks to provide Virginia investors with a high level of current interest income that is exempt from federal and Virginia state income taxes. The fund invests primarily in long-term investment grade Virginia tax-exempt securities. The fund invests its assets in securities issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia, its political subdivisions and instrumentalities, and by other governmental entities if, in the opinion of counsel to the issuer, the interest from such obligations is excluded from gross income for federal income tax purposes and is exempt from Virginia state income taxes. Dividends are declared daily and paid on the last business day of each month. Capital gains are distributed in December each year.
