Headquartered in Providence, RI, Citizens Financial Group, Inc. was founded in 1828 and currently is one of the largest retail bank holding companies in the United States, with total assets of $179.2 billion, as of Sep 30, 2020. Citizens Financial was acquired by the RBS Group in 1988 and was known as RBS Citizens Financial Group. However, Citizens Financial became a publicly-traded company through its September 2014 initial public offering. Citizens Financial offers retail and commercial banking products and services to individuals, institutions and companies.
