Based on product grouping, the company conducts its operations in three business segments namely Personal Care, Consumer Tissue, and K-C Professional.
The Personal Care segment includes products like disposable diapers, training and youth pants, swimpants, baby wipes, feminine and incontinence care products, and other related products. Products in this segment are sold under the Huggies, Pull-Ups, Little Swimmers, GoodNites, DryNites, Kotex, U by Kotex, Intimus, Depend, Plenitud, Poise and other brand names. Sales from this segment constituted 53.5% of the second-quarter 2024 top line.
The Consumer Tissue segment includes facial and bathroom tissue, paper towels, napkins and related products, which are sold under the Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Andrex, Scottex, Neve and other brand names. Sales from this segment constituted 29.5% of the second-quarter 2024 top line.
The K-C Professional segment consists of apparel, wipers, soaps, sanitizers, tissue and towels. Key brands in this segment include Kleenex, Scott, WypAll, Kimtech and Jackson Safety. Sales from this segment accounted for 16.7% of the top line in second-quarter 2024.
The Corporate and Other segment contributed 0.3% to second-quarter 2024 sales.
In the second quarter of 2023, the company completed the divestiture of its Brazil tissue assets. In February 2022, Kimberly-Clark acquired a majority stake in Thinx, Inc. — the pioneer in the reusable period and incontinence underwear category. Kimberly-Clark, a leading provider of menstrual hygiene products, had undertaken an initial minority investment in Thinx during 2019.
