Fund Description
The fund was incepted in February 1987 and is managed by Wellington Management Company. The fund seeks to preserve principal value and maintain liquidity while providing current income. The fund invests substantially all (at least 80%) of its net assets in U.S. Treasury obligations and obligations issued or guaranteed as to principal and interest by agencies or instrumentalities of the U.S. government, including mortgage-backed securities and repurchase agreements collateralized by such obligations. In addition, the fund may invest in futures contracts and other similar instruments for risk management purposes. Dividends are distributed monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
