Small-Caps Up For 8 Weeks In A Row

The markets ended mixed on Friday. But it's worth noting that the Russell 2000 Small-Cap Index, once again, closed higher for the week, making it 8 weeks in a row.

It was an interesting week for the markets with renewed trade tensions weighing on stocks a little. But the markets held up quite well, giving up only the smallest amount of ground (and in some cases, none at all).

But the economy keeps on chugging along with some of the best numbers we've seen in decades, if not ever.

That continues to underpin the markets. And expectations remain high for more gains to come.

As I've said before, there will be ups and downs. And it's impossible to know what's going to happen from day to day or week to week.

But given this historic economy, which has been driven by the historic tax cuts and historic deregulation, and has ushered in historic job gains and historic corporate earnings, I'm fully expecting this current bull market to ultimately turn into the longest and most historic bull market ever. (Only another 3 more years to go. But I don't think it'll stop there.)

So make sure you're taking advantage of these historic times.

Get rid of your laggards, buy more leaders, and make sure you're filling up your portfolio with the best stocks.
